Disclaimer: I am learning from web or books I have and talking to people. So this is from multiple sources.
I started learning which Goddess for each day to pray during Navaratri and also color significance. Looks like most of the Northern India follows "Nava Durga Sampradayam" while southern states follow "Nava Devi Sampradayam". In addition each Devi temple follow a slight modified version as per their needs. In Vaishnaya Sampradayam (Lakshmi Sampradayam), devotees pray Ashta Lakshmis and Maha Lakshmi during Navaratri. Some big Vaishnava Temples like Tirupati do not celebrate Navaartri. Instead they celebrate Brahmotsavams during Navaratri days.
