Christmas in school days

For those wondering about the title - I did my schooling in St.MontFort Boarding High school. So for every Christmas we get holidays to go home and celebrate festival at home. For few of those holidays I went to friends' home instead of mine and celebrated Christmas with their families. Even though it sound very simple to go to some friends' home instead of your home in holidays - its not. At that age itself we used to plan it meticulously much in advance. It all starts with letting parents know that I found a friend who studies better than me(better than me is important here) so they feel good about it. Then the next step is to slowly making them aware that we are studying together and doing home work together. Then it goes on complaining that we were given so much home work for holidays and only working together can help us finish home work in time. So using all these we can get a ticket to go to friends' place. Once we are there I always used to get good treatment as I am the guest and most of the time youngest as I am the youngest in my class. In fact I was one of the elves in a show. So I saw Santa Clause talking in Telugu and kids wondering why Santa is giving only candies even though he is famous for gifts. There were lot of decorations we do to create the hut, Mary, Joseph and baby Jesus. After all this - I used to go to my home for some days before returning to school - with all my home work intact. My books still unopened from the suitcase and me with lot of excuses.

And almost there for break

Been busy travelling NY and CA for a month. Waiting for Christmas at home. Met couple of relatives that I missed for some time. One thing I learned is - go to details in everything you do. Superficial or overview opinion might not be representing what it is at the core. So details are necessary for accountability. I think this applies to anything - money, career, kids, family ...

And in the contrary - if someone or something is bothering you don't dig for details and pick the fight. Just move on. Somethings are better left out. Not worth a beautiful mind.

Back to Work

No time is enough to say enough playing with kids and having fun with them. Like every good thing - my break also came to a pause - back to work in Orange County, California.

Unusual weather here at 84 degrees but hope it will change to little cool weather. Just decided to implement one thing - never ever hate any one more than needed. Sometimes thinking about something that you don't like might hurt you. So decided to find a reason not to have grudge on anything. Looks like these are my thoughts as I am getting older. Damn... I am getting old. Less aggression is good anyway...

Having some time with kids

Just got a break from busy schedule of travelling overseas. Thats coming to an end in a week. At least had some quality time with little ones.

While doing some workbook, Aniketh doesn't agree that rain makes roads muddy. His argument is when it rains the water flows on roads but not muddy. Did you get that - here the kids do not know that there are roads with mud. Different perspective.

Hard to teach them to appreciate cement roads wen they do not know the mud roads.

Teachers Day - Sep 5th

Just realized it is teachers day. First thing I remember is self government day in school days. Students use to come school dressed up as teachers and running classes. May be it was for students to realize how difficult it is to run a class and appreciate teachers and their duties little more.

Most important thing on this day - Wishing Babai. More teacher for me than Babai I beleive. Person to speak to and gain something from.

And for my all teachers in life - Happy teachers day.

Gotta write something from Toronto

Here in Toronto - and came to know a buddy is staying 10 kms away. kms stand for Kilometers just like back home. except that fact everything is same in Canada(Almost same). same highways , same food, same arguments with wife and same late nights at hotel. Learned something again today is - listening is an art and need to master that. Helps in client places, personal affairs too.

And that CAP is...

CapGemini. Joined Capgemini and placed in Southern California. Cant stop complaining about leaving this beautiful weather 6 years ago. Sunny - 65 degrees and beaches.. I can take this any time over Snow and rain back home.

Get to know different strategies and approaches people take for common aim in software development. It is a different world over here. I believe its the people make difference but not approach. May be I am too confident on people. Thinking of people I am learning something with age about how to deal with people. Wish I had this learned from others' experiences but how many people are fortunate to learn from others' experiences? Not me at least... But as someone told me yesterday - if you have missed getting up at the sunrise - think it is sunrise when you got up and plunge ahead without worrying about past. in Hindi - jab jago tho subah..

Wearing a new CAP......

Transitioned to a new position and hit the ground running. Everyday and every time meeting new people with antennas fully open. If you think your life is exciting and fun - listen to 50 people telling a fun fact about them. So many things out there to achieve or at least try irrespective of age or role. I should take one of them - teach my kids a game or take a class. So cute that Kanna and Siri think I am still in Houston. Missing them by miles. I owe them a fun weekend.

Very hopeful 2010

So many things are expected in 2010 and I am excited to be here. Lot of anxiety prevailing over here. This year came with very busy schedules as Guddu started working and Siri also joined Kanna in Montessori. Looks like 2010 is living upto its expectations of improving the economy. Our expenses are already up.

I already broke the two resolutions(Low carbs and Low sugars) I made in the new year but they are still on. Will try to be on top.
