Covered my face with a book

Got contacted by quite few friends on Facebook and then I also get to poke couple of old friends. So keep getting pulled to FB few times every day. Never thought I will be spending so much time on a social network site. But at least that reduced my time on Greatandhra.com which reduced my time on Rediff.com before which reduced my time on eenadu.net and before it was rediff.com and the list goes like this..

So basically getting hooked to the latest interesting site is always happening. But the fun fact with social networking is you are working hard to keep that site interesting so that you can get hooked to it and stay on that site for longer. So you are creating your own obsession and you want everyone to be obsessed with that. Do you see anything wrong?

Kanna's first chatting session

He is showing that he is all set for his 6th birthday. He did his first chatting today with his Jyothi Atha. I am surprised how fast they can get into it. 30 seconds was all it took for this generation to understand chatting and getting fun of it.

Just imagine what was the new thing I learned when I was 5 years old and how about my parents when they were 5 years old? Pheww...

Celebration weekend

Preparing for July 4th weekend. Happy one for lot of reasons. Aniekths's 5th birthday that always coincides with July 4th weekend. Would like to find out what will be a good exciting birthday event for kids. Do they really enjoy birthday parties at 5 years age? Or do they want to play bowling and video games?? Have to see how they respond this week.
Regarding fire works -watched a spectacular display of fire works done between two casinos of two countries US and Canada. It was pretty amazing. Can you believe 25 mins of fireworks. Thats a long time.

Nope. Its not a ThinkPad.

Thats what Kanna said today.

Whaattt? I was stunned and jumped out of my seat when I realized what he said.

He thinks it is not ThinkPad because it is not typing what we are thinking. We still have to physically press the key 'K' to type his name. When he asked me what is my laptop name I said it is ThinkPad. Then he explained me saying - "Nanna, look. It is not typing what we think. It is waiting for you to press a key to type. If it is a ThinkPad, it has to type what we are thinking without key press"

Frankly I was surprised that a 5 year old can think like that. And then I am more surprised that I never though about it. May be we are in the world where we are just taking things as they appear and we never really look for how great they can be? May be next gen!

Heyyyyy... It snowed in Dallas

So beautiful... Sitting at the breakfast table with kids on both side watching the snow. Our breakfast area has three windows big enough to go around our breakfast table. So we opened the blinds and pulled them up all the way. Turned our chairs towards the window. Sitting cuddling each other and watching the snow fall on the grass. Such a lovely scene. We could see only snow flakes nothing else. They covered even the neighbors home. It slowly started like a frosting on grass and quickly became like a snow carpet and in no time it became a thick layer of 6 inches. Then the kids remembered snow man. So we get to go out and made a snow man that is in make-believe shape. All is done in 15 minutes. By then everyone started becoming wet and cold so came inside and had a nice coffee. This is not a regular scene in Dallas. Only once in 5 years so enjoy it.
